Sam Farr II is a human who loves to geek out over exercise and everything that involves moving heavy objects. He has expanded the minds of students at temple university since 2012 and plans to do so for years to come. While he started out as an endurance athlete - running, biking, and swimming wherever he could - he figured out that a barbell was actually his favorite thing. He currently competes in powerlifting and plans on using that to succeed in world domination soon. When not working out or teaching people about working out, he is busy eating, attempting to be an accomplished writer, and making people laugh with whatever antics he can muster.

I started CrossFit in 2012 at a globo gym in Northfield, NJ. My first workout was Fran – using terrible technique to do kipping pullups and thrusters with 25lb metal plates. Eight minutes and a meeting with Mr. Pukie later, I was hooked. I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2015 with a degree in Maritime and Supply Chain Management then moved to Philly in December 2015.
I love the constant challenges and community that CrossFit brings. My time in the gym is the best part of my day. As a coach, I love being able to help members reach their goals and lead them to better health and performance.
The best part of my day is when I’m in the gym training, and it is my goal to make it the best part of every member's day. I have been coaching and competing locally in crossfit for almost three years now and it is something I genuinely love. It is a great outlet for me to nerd out over scientific principles while also helping others, which has always been something that is important to me.
My name is Melody Schofield and I'm a CrossFit Athlete! Before my CrossFit career started about two and a half years ago, my main focus was Obstacle racing and Ninja Warrior training. After my first CrossFit class I fell more and more in love with the sport and decided to put 110% of my athletic focus into it. I have been doing it competitively for a little over a year and love every second of it.
My goals as a coach are to share the passion I have for the sport with others and to get others where they would like to be! I absolutely love setting and hitting goals, so if you're attending the classes I coach get ready to set a few!
I'm an optimist, believe in hard work, and am a lover of life!

Hi, I hope you are having a good day. As you can see above My name is Alejandro Valentin, some people call me Alejandro, others call me señor Awesome, or just Awesome, any of those is fine by me. Physical fitness has been a part of my life for as long as I could remember; I’ve excelled in many sports, from running in the Penn relays in middle school, to playing baseball and football in high school. I continued to play football in the Marine Corp, where I served for four years; After the Marine Corp, I played rugby league with the Pennsylvania bulls, and a few test matches with the USA Tomahawks. While training for the Tomahawks I was introduced to CrossFit by the teams strength and conditioning coach, and I immediately fell in love with the workouts; now I compete as a CrossFit athlete, and am realizing everyday how much stronger I am today than I was yesterday.
I obtained my CFL1, so that I could fulfill my life's purpose of helping as many people realize everyday how strong they truly are. I believe that physical fitness can build a stronger person, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I wake up before the sun every morning excited for the opportunity to help someone new become the strongest version of themselves, and I look forward to working out with you in the days to come.

Maria Sylvester Terry has always known one thing about herself - she likes to keep moving. She’s hiked six states of the Appalachian Trail, run several long distances races, and taught group fitness classes since 2009. When a hiking injury stopped her in her tracks in 2011, she was limited to only practicing and teaching yoga. This was, of course, a blessing in disguise, and yoga introduced her to a new love for anatomy, mind-body connection, and mental resilience. Teaching yoga to athletes is a particular passion for Maria, for she feels yoga has made her a stronger athlete physically and mentally. In addition to teaching yoga, Maria is also a graduate student at Drexel University studying Human Nutrition.
In Maria’s classes, students of all levels can expect to feel welcome, challenged, and encouraged to explore new possibilities on the mat. She plans creative, cohesive flows that honor tradition (think body-warming sun salutations) and support functional movement and strength training (because planks are fun!). Maria also incorporates carefully curated playlists and thoughtful mantras for on and off your mat.
