Sam Farr II is a human who loves to geek out over exercise and everything that involves moving heavy objects. He has expanded the minds of students at temple university since 2012 and plans to do so for years to come. While he started out as an endurance athlete - running, biking, and swimming wherever he could - he figured out that a barbell was actually his favorite thing. He currently competes in powerlifting and plans on using that to succeed in world domination soon. When not working out or teaching people about working out, he is busy eating, attempting to be an accomplished writer, and making people laugh with whatever antics he can muster.
My name is Melody Schofield and I'm a CrossFit Athlete! Before my CrossFit career started about two and a half years ago, my main focus was Obstacle racing and Ninja Warrior training. After my first CrossFit class I fell more and more in love with the sport and decided to put 110% of my athletic focus into it. I have been doing it competitively for a little over a year and love every second of it.
My goals as a coach are to share the passion I have for the sport with others and to get others where they would like to be! I absolutely love setting and hitting goals, so if you're attending the classes I coach get ready to set a few!

Levi has been immersed in strength and conditioning on some level for the past 8 years but has been an athlete his entire life. A cancer survivor—his experiences have shaped him into a natural fighter, turning to fitness as a way of life. A former collegiate baseball player, Levi has spent significant time focused on enhancing physical performance for sport. Recently, Levi made a shift in his focus to health and discovered Crossfit. Levi has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and will graduate in May 2019 with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Crossfit helps integrate Levi’s love for performance, health, and helping others.
Levi has experience prescribing clients with corrective/restorative exercises to aid in injury prevention or recovery. Dieting and lifestyle hacks, goal specific workout programs, and 1 on 1 personal training. Experience working with everyone from teenagers to senior citizens.

A Philadelphia-native, Greg brings the same passion for his sports teams to the gym and to his clients! Being an athlete himself that desires to perform at the highest level, Greg decided that he wanted to give the gift of health and fitness back to others and help them to achieve their goals, too. He brings a fun, energetic and professional touch to his classes and training sessions that will have you looking forward to your next workout!
A current member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as USA Weightlifting , Greg holds his NSCA-CPT and USAW Level 1 certifications - making him a well-rounded trainer for those looking to lose weight and tone their bodies to individuals looking to increase strength and power.
Personally, Greg has trained for and completed multiple Spartan obstacle course races, earning a Double Trifecta in 2016 while running courses in Utah, North Carolina and the Tri-State region. He has also competed locally in several USA Weightlifting events, having qualified for the American Open Series in 2017 as an 85kg lifter.

I started CrossFit in 2012 at a globo gym in Northfield, NJ. My first workout was Fran – using terrible technique to do kipping pullups and thrusters with 25lb metal plates. Eight minutes and a meeting with Mr. Pukie later, I was hooked. I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2015 with a degree in Maritime and Supply Chain Management then moved to Philly in December 2015.
I love the constant challenges and community that CrossFit brings. My time in the gym is the best part of my day. As a coach, I love being able to help members reach their goals and lead them to better health and performance.
Looking back on it, I found CrossFit at the exact right time I needed to...summer of 2013. I’d spent the last 9 years of my life in a touring rock-band. My body was beat up. My health was a mess. You name it, I’d done it...a lot. We always hear about the ways CrossFit changes lives, well it saved mine.
From March 2014 to October 2018 I was the head coach at CrossFit Bala. Six days a week, all told more than 3,400 classes. I had the opportunity to train a number of NBA players using functional fitness principles and worked alongside the amazingly talented kids at the High Performance Tennis Academy. But mostly day-to-day regular folks who want to live long and healthy. I loved coaching then, I still love it now.
All the experience has allowed me to grow as a coach and a professional in countless ways. I’ve learned that good coaching isn’t about “Fran” times or 500# deadlifts. It’s about connecting with other people and providing them their best hour of the day.
We all put our phones down, laugh, complain, and ultimately sweat it out as a group of different people with a uniquely common bond. We like that it hurts. We like being nervous before it starts. We like the fact that there’s no way to negotiate around hard-work. Every day…consistent, hard work.

My name is Justin Lee and I’m a competitive CrossFit athlete and coach. I’ve been coaching for the past 4 years and I take pride in my development as an athlete, but even more so as a coach. I believe in a wholistic approach to health & fitness starting with a foundation of nutrition and functional movement.
I am truly passionate about helping others push beyond their limits in order to be the healthiest versions of themselves and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do it here at OpenBox Athletics. I look forward to continued growth as a coach and athlete as a member of the OBA family.
Emily Molnar is a CrossFit athlete and Crossfit Level 1 Coach. She is also a certified personal trainer. She has been involved in the fitness industry for many years and doing CrossFit for almost two years. Emily has made progress quickly, despite having to overcome some big adversities. She has a passion for the sport and wants to share that drive with others. If she's not in the gym training she is working on her nutrition, recovery and mindset. With a goal to compete as a master's athlete and get her Level 2 certification, she shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Emily Tara Sabalbaro is a yoga and meditation instructor, competitive athlete, and mother. She won a 24-hour trail ultra marathon, competes in obstacle course races, and hiked the Annapurna circuit of the Himalayas, and she relies on yoga and crossfit to train. Whether it's exploring the inner self through meditation or pushing the body's physical limits, she believes in exploring just how far the body and mind can go.
In class, she aims to foster a supportive, all-levels environment where students feel confident and safe to explore. Her teaching supports an interdisciplinary approach that combines strength training, yoga, functional mobility, mindfulness, visualization, and breathing exercises.

Hi! I’m Emily! I started CrossFit in 2015 and absolutely fell in love with the community surrounding it. Going to the gym since then has been the best part of my day. I love being a part of something bigger than myself that aims to make the world a happier and healthier place. As a coach these are my main goals. I want all of my athletes to become the happiest and healthiest versions of themselves that they can be, and I also want the time my athletes spend in the gym with me to be the best hour of their day.
My specialties are in gymnastics and olympic weightlifting. I compete nationally for olympic lifting, and gymnastics movements help me to stay flexible and strong for my sport. I am obsessed with handstand walking so if you ever see someone upside down at the gym that’s probably me!
